Let's get ready to gain the skills for accelerated training! Our programs below are designed to prepare a forward path in your healthcare career. Programs marked with a Fast Forward Eligible are eligible for the FastForward program.

Certified Medical Assistant

Fast Forward Eligible Certified Medical Assistant: In our region, employers are looking for candidates who have completed a medical assistant training program, a certification from an industry recognized agency like the National Healthcareer Association, and a clinical rotation experience. Our program will get you trained, certified, and in a clinical rotation in just one semester.

  1. Sign-up for the Pre-Qualifying Class.
  2. Set-up an appointment with a navigator to complete the pre-qualifying process.

  3. Complete the onboarding and financial assistance process to be officially enrolled in the program. Your Career Navigator will guide you through this. Please be aware that this can take up to a month.
Medical Billing Specialist

Fast Forward Eligible Medical Billing Specialist: Get started in your healthcare career with an entry-level job as a medical billing specialist. These specialists are comfortable working with a computer in an office environment, performing data entry with various software programs, problem solving to resolve billing errors, and communicating with insurance payers, patients, and other health professionals via telephone.

Medical Administrative Assistant

Fast Forward Eligible Medical Administrative Assistant: Get started in your healthcare career with an entry-level job as a medical administrative assistant! As a professional assisting a medical office, you will be on the front lines as a patient service representative utilizing computer software, medical record systems, telephone etiquette, email and written correspondence, and interpersonal communication with diverse audiences.  This program covers the professional soft skills and hands-on technical skills to work as a patient service representative, medical secretary, medical administrative assistant, or medical records clerk. This program is ideal for students who have never worked in healthcare, or are looking for an introduction to the healthcare field.

Pharmacy Technician Program

Fast Forward Eligible Pharmacy Technician Program: The pharmacy is often the most accessible form of health care, and pharmacy technicians play a vital role in hospitals, health systems, and community, grocery or drug store pharmacies. Pharmacy technicians are comfortable communicating with diverse audiences, performing data entry with various software programs, problem solving to work in a busy environment, and maintaining professionalism to provide quality patient care. This course will prepare you to support pharmacists to provide safe and effective patient care.

Dental Pain Management for Dental Hygienists

Dental Pain Management for Dental Hygienists: This certification class will allow Dental Hygienist to administer anesthesia and other pain management systems to assist the Dentist in treating a patient. This will be a very valuable certificate to add to your Dental Hygienist Licensure. It will be valuable in your current job or if you seeking employment.

Dental Radiation Safety Certification

Dental Radiation Safety Certification: This course meets the requirements of the Virginia State Board of Dentistry for certification in radiography safety. This hybrid class will include x-ray production, radiation biology, radiation safety and hygiene, dental radiography techniques, film placement and proper positioning of the cone.

A comprehensive exam will be given after the completion of the online session. The exam emphasizes safety for the patient; operator and co-worker (including infection control, health and safety procedures).The student must pass the exam with a minimum grade of 75%.  This class will not provide clinical competence in taking x-rays.
