For the second year in a row, the Virginia Western Community College Dental Hygiene Program has a 100% pass rate on the CDCA/ADEX clinical board exam.
The examination for the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA)/American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) evaluates students’ clinical skills and their knowledge and ability to provide safe and effective patient care. Students must pass this clinical exam and a comprehensive national written exam to obtain licensure to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Virginia Western Community College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in dental hygiene, and biennially admits students from Danville Community College and Laurel Ridge Community College. Students are admitted to the distance sites biennially. All students enroll in the same classes and have the same clinical experiences, just at a different physical location.
All dental hygiene students at the Virginia Western and Laurel Ridge campuses passed their CDCA/ADEX clinical board exam on the first attempt.
