The TransferVA portal has been upgraded to help students who aim to transfer to four-year institutions. This web-based tool lets students explore majors and programs, build an academic portfolio and see where their credits can transfer. TransferVA provides a direct line for students to connect with colleges and universities.
The Virginia Community College System has outlined features of the upgraded portal, where a “Get Started” tab starts users down the pathway they need.
Virginia Western Community College is proud to be one of the Two-Year Transfer Partners participating in TransferVA. Using the portal, advisors can walk through opportunities with students as they plan their course of study and plot their transfer journey.
“The TransferVA portal will change the way students plan their future. It is a powerful tool that can help them see beyond their time here with us. Students will be able to see all the programs that the four-year institutions have to offer. Students will also be able to search programs offered at other Virginia community colleges. The TransferVA portal will be a great tool that will help students meet their goals,” said Amy Anguiano, Dean of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Virginia Western. “The portal is user-friendly and streamlines the information so students can quickly navigate their options and personalize their searches. The portal gives us yet another way to work with students to offer the support they need for success.”
