Virginia Western Community College is continuing efforts to support students impacted by the closure of ITT Technical Institute. The college is pleased to announce the following events to assist ITT graduates in transitioning into the workforce and to help students who had not completed their programs of study in continuing their pursuit of higher education.
Virginia Western 2016 Career Summit Employment Fair
WHEN: 1-3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7
WHERE: Virginia Western Gymnasium (Humanities Building)
DETAILS: Meet more than 50 employers who are searching for quality employees right now. A wide range of employment opportunities will be available, including Engineering, Nursing, Business, Accounting, Information Technology, Science, and many more. Come dressed for success with an updated resume!
Nursing Information Session
WHEN: 10 a.m.-Noon, Tuesday, Oct. 11
WHERE: Fralin Center Multipurpose Room (Health Professions 208)
DETAILS: This information session is designed for students who were in the process of completing their Nursing degree at ITT and are now interested in pursuing a nursing degree at Virginia Western.
ITT College & Career Transition Assistance
WHEN: 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 24
WHERE: Hall Associates Career & Employment Assistance Center (Student Center 207)
DETAILS: This drop-in support event will help former ITT students navigate the transition to Virginia Western. Professional advisors and financial aid representatives will be available to discuss academic programs, advanced standing options for college credit, and financial assistance. Additionally, career counselors will conduct career advising interviews, review current labor market data, and provide resume preparation support.
Virginia Western Community Job Fair
WHEN: 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2
WHERE: Fralin Center Multipurpose Room (Health Professions 208 & 210)
DETAILS: Meet with more than 20 employers interested in hiring qualified employees for a variety of career fields, including healthcare, technology, security and law enforcement, banking and finance, office management and administration, and many others.

Former ITT Tech students are also encouraged to visit www.virginiawestern.edu and complete a simple form to be contacted directly by an enrollment specialist.
