Potomac State (1-0) defeated Virginia Western (0-1) 99-65 in men’s basketball on Saturday afternoon in Roanoke. The Catamounts were led by Quincy Miller with 30 points and Zachery White added 12.
The Rapids hung tough with the No. 1 team in Region 20 for the first 15 minutes. The Catamounts closed the half on a 15-3 run to take a 47-34 lead into the locker room and never trailed in the second half.
The Rapids were led by Chris Jones and Damien Harris who both had 16 points in their NJCAA debut.The Rapids return to action on Tuesday when they travel to take on Guilford Tech in Greensboro.
