Virginia Western Community College’s Workforce Development department in association with the Mid-Atlantic OTI Education Center will offer Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) training in October and November. All classes will be offered on Virginia Western’s Roanoke campus and will include training materials, lunch and refreshments. OSHA 510 – Basic Course for Construction Industry 8 a.m.-4 p.m October 8-11, 2013 $795
This course presents the 29 CRR 1926 standards as well as construction safety and health principles to help prevent injuries and fatalities. Special emphasis is placed upon the most hazardous areas with OSHA standards as a guide.
OSHA 500 – Trainer Course for Construction Industry 8 a.m.-4 p.m November 12-15, 2013 $795
This course is designed for personnel interested in developing safety and health programs in the construction industry. OSHA 510 and five years of construction safety experience are required. Upon completion of this course, graduates are authorized to conduct 10 and 30-hour voluntary compliance courses in the construction industry.
