The Virginia Western Community College Educational Foundation, Inc., is offering more than $150,000 in scholarship opportunities for students applying to attend Virginia Western during the upcoming academic year. More than 120 scholarships in total will be distributed.
Prospective and current students can apply now for the scholarships at: http://www.virginiawestern.edu/foundation.
The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, May 20, for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Virginia Western’s tuition is approximately one-third that of a typical four-year college. However, many students continue to struggle meeting the costs and drop out under financial strain. Tuition has increased significantly in the past several years because of the state’s budget shortfall, causing even more financial hardship for students. Individuals, businesses, community organizations and corporations are generously investing in scholarships at Virginia Western, creating doorways to individual growth and achievement.
