The groundbreaking journalism career of Sandra Kelly, Brown Library’s reference assistant (and longtime adjunct professor in the English department), has been highlighted in a recent article in the Roanoke Times.
“Changing Times: 125 Years at The Roanoke Times” tells how the newspaper and its staff have evolved from a hand-cranked press to the digital age; from covering “local fender-benders” to being a “broad-based news operation that covered most of Western Virginia… from desegregation to state and national politics.”
Sandra has some interesting stories to tell about the “Mad Men” days of journalism—stop by the library to say hello and receive her excellent assistance with your assignments and papers!
