Brown Library will host yet another FREE BOOK giveaway to current VWCC students at 10am on Thursday, October 10th, in celebration of Roanoke Valley Reads 2013. Head to the Reference desk on the Main floor or Circulation desk on the top floor of the library, and librarians will give you your book! First come, first served; there are only 30 copies available.

The book selected for all the city to read is Wish You Well by David Baldacci, a Richmond, Virginia native.

How do you participate in Roanoke Valley Reads?

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Pick up a copy of Wish You Well by David Baldacci. Current VWCC students can get their FREE BOOK at Brown Library! There are also copies of it on reserve at the Circulation desk.
  2. Read the book.
    • Think about it!
    • Talk about it!
    • Share it!
  3. Attend events October 17 – November 17, and take a friend!
    Book discussions and other programs based on themes in the book will be scheduled throughout the Roanoke Valley, including a talk and signing by the author on October 17th. Check the Events Calendar for updates.

Roanoke Valley Reads is a community-wide reading experience that brings people together, promotes tolerance and understanding of differing points of view, and emphasizes the importance of literacy. Brown Library previously participated in the Big Read Roanoke Valley 2010 and Roanoke Valley Reads 2011.
