Brown Library is putting the power of statistical information in your hands. Our new Statistics LibGuide, short for Library Guide, is a website with links to nearly 60 governmental and not-for-profit statistics sites. It just got much easier for you to find statistical information for your papers and projects. Find statistics on population, crime, religious beliefs, health-related topics, and the environment, among others.
There you will find the statistics guide and other LibGuides specific to classes offered here at Virginia Western.
Please contact us if you have any questions or need help with your research assignments.
Need help with a research assignment? Now you can reserve a Research Consultation with a Reference Librarian for up to 30 minutes to help you find resources for your research paper and citations. To schedule a session, call 857-7303, email email@example.com, or stop by the 2nd floor of the Brown Library building. All you have to do is have your topic selected and provide a copy of your assignment. Hurry, the semester is almost over!
Bones have been found at the Circulation Desk on the top floor of Brown Library. There are three skulls, each with a detailed coded bone list, and one skeleton with a human anatomy manual. Rumor has it that some Dental Hygiene and Nursing students have been using these bones for individual and group study in the library. If you are interested in checking out these bones, just go to the Circulation Desk and give them two out of the three following items: your current VWCC student I.D., a Virginia picture I.D., or your keys. You can then take the bones to a study table or into a study room for two hours.
The skulls and skeleton are available all year long, but they look pretty scary dressed up for Halloween.
So come to the top floor of the library . . . if you dare . . . “AHHHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!” (sinister laugh)
