Online tutoring at The Academic Link is available by appointment during regular business hours (in the right column) to any student who needs assistance with any VWCC course. Tutoring sessions are delivered through Blackboard Collaborate, which has audio, video, and screen-sharing capabilities.
How to Request an Online Tutoring Appointment
To request an appointment with an Online Tutor, send an email request to . In the body of your email, include the following information:
- Your name
- A phone number where you can normally be reached
- The class you're enrolled in, including both subject and section; for example, MTH 163 D69
- The days and times you would be available to meet with the Online Tutor
Once this information is received, an online tutoring appointment will be made for you and an email confirmation containing the date and time of the appointment and your tutor's name will be sent to you from LINKTutoring ().
How to Access Your Online Tutoring Session
To access your online tutoring session, you’ll need a computer, a microphone and speakers (either built-in or in a headset), and an Internet connection. After your appointment has been made, an online tutoring session will be set up for you, and you'll be sent directions from LINK Online Tutoring explaining how to access the session and how to make sure your computer has the latest Java update.
