Change Your Password and/or Security Questions

In order to change your MyVWCC password, you must know your current password and already be logged in. If you do not know your current password, click here for instructions for resetting it.

If you have difficulty changing or resetting your password, please contact the Help Desk at 540-857-7354. Passwords can not be reset via email, you must call or visit the Help Desk in person (Business Science M273).

To change your password:

  1. Once you are logged in to MyVWCC, click Account Security in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Enter your current password and click Sign in.
  3. Click the Change Now button under Change Password.
  4. Enter and then repeat your new password. Passwords must have between 8 and 32 characters. Your password must contain a combination of:
    • at least one UPPERCASE letter
    • at least one lowercase letter
    • at least one number (0-9)
    • at least one special character (e.g. !`~@#$%^&*()_+{}[]-/\?:,)
  5. Click Update.

Your password will be changed to your new password. You should log out and wait 10 minutes before logging back in.

To change your security questions:

  1. Once you are logged in to MyVWCC, click Account Security in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Enter your current password and click Sign in.
  3. Click the Get Started button under Account Recovery Settings.
  4. Make the necessary changes to your security questions and answers, and click Submit.
  5. You will see a green bar above your questions that says “You have successfully saved your changes.” Click the Return to Home Page button to return to the main MyVWCC screen.
