Purpose or Role of the Position within the Organization:
Assist with Crime Lab organization and setup of various practical exercises for Forensic Science students.
Duties/Responsibilities of the Position and how they relate to the purpose or role
Organization of Crime Lab Materials:
- Assist in organizing lab materials and forensic equipment for practical exercises.
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are stocked and ready for use.
- Organize storage areas and ensure proper labeling of forensic tools equipment.
Ensure that all workstations are clean, organized, and safe for use by students and staff.
Assisting with Lab Setup for Practical Exercises:
- Work with the professor to prepare and set up crime scene mock-ups or forensic experiments for practical lab exercises.
- Help arrange materials, props, and tools needed for specific exercises (e.g., fingerprinting, blood spatter analysis, evidence handling).
Support During Lab Sessions:
- Assist the professor during practical exercises by providing support during hands on exercises.
- Assist in preparing or distributing materials and samples for student practice.
Cleaning and Maintaining Lab Equipment:
- Clean and maintain lab equipment, ensuring it remains in working order for future exercises.
- Regularly check equipment for damage and report issues to the professor or lab manager.
- Help with washing tools and materials after each exercise to maintain a clean environment.
