Reports to: Dean of Student Affairs (FA099)
This position administers the day-to-day co-curricular activities programs for students. Oversees the student athletic program, Fitness Center, the Student Council and other student clubs and organizations.
Work Tasks & Duties
55% | Manage the daily functions of the college’s student activities office and student life programs through the use of student organizations, faculty advisors, outside presenters and programs. Coordinate activities and schedule events after appropriate planning and development. Determine appropriate campus facilities for programs and reserves rooms and facilities for use; promote events through campus publicity and local media when appropriate. Supervise and evaluate all student activity events and confers frequently with supervisor on student activity matters. Responsible for managing the budget and requisitioning all payments related to these activities. |
15% | Co-Coordinate activities of student organizations that promote student leadership, participation in college decision-making, and enrichment of student life and manage the budget associated with these functions. Serve as co-advisor for the Student Council, provide direction for the Student Council officers, and help oversee Student Council activities, including meetings and elections. Co-advisor for campus Peer Mentoring program. Supervise Student Life Specialist and oversee programs related to student organization development, student service projects, and student leadership development. Assist with programs as needed. |
10% | Oversee the Fitness Center. Supervise the Fitness Center Coordinator. Ensure proper standards are being met in the center. Provide a diversity of programs to meet the needs of students and employees. Assist with programs as needed. |
10% | Provide leadership to Student Life program and employees by setting goals and direction, encouraging teamwork and collaboration within department, and creating internal policies and procedures for staff. Responsible for managing department-wide purchasing and budgeting. Leading by providing reporting (IE/Assessment Plans) and sharing information to encourage collaboration with other areas of campus to enhance services (marketing, website, Institutional Effectiveness, and student success initiatives). |
5% | Prepare and distribute student identification cards; Schedule work-study staffing for Student Information Desk/student identification card desk. Provide job duties and expectation for work-study to maintain operations of information desk (Front-desk). Annually update the Student Handbook for policy/content changes, coordinate publication and distribute to students, faculty, and administrative offices as required. |
5% | Work on various campus committees and other special assignments as assigned by the administration and/or the supervisor. |
