Reports to: Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness (FA093)
The Administrative Officer for the QEP has responsibility for the implementation and management of the Quality Enhancement Plan along with assessment planning and updates as part of Virginia Western’s reaffirmation of its SACSCOC accreditation. The incumbent in this position also teaches several courses in the subject matter in which he/she is credentialed. The Administrative Officer for the QEP reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness.
This is a restricted position that is subject to continued availability of funds. It is anticipated that this position will be funded for two academic years, ending in May 2025.
Duties & Responsibilities
QEP Implementation and Management (60%)
- Provides general oversight of the QEP implementation.
- Ensures QEP implementation is sustained through continuous input and participation from students, faculty, staff, and administration.
- Leads and coordinates QEP-related assessments at the academic department level and throughout the college.
- Ensures QEP remains in compliance with SACSCOC requirements.
- Manages and coordinates the assessment process to include program and student learning objectives.
- Compiles data and conducts analyses.
- Provides regular reports (quantitative and qualitative), feedback and recommendations to the college community, and academic departments.
- Manages the QEP budget.
- Plans, initiates, and executes the delivery of professional development for academic departments.
- Prepares and presents annual QEP status reports for the QEP Committee, college leadership, and other relevant constituencies.
- Develops and executes QEP marketing and faculty outreach in partnership with applicable offices (e.g., Marketing)
- Assists with the preparation of reports for SACSCOC.
- Serves as a liaison between faculty, staff and all QEP activities.
- Chairs the QEP Committee
- Provides leadership and coordination for institutional effectiveness activities.
- Analyzes and disseminates information about the College in support of institutional planning and reporting as it relates to the QEP.
Teaching (40%)
- Teaches 2 courses (6 total credits) per semester in the subject area in which credentialed.
