Information for High Schools :: Batch Spreadsheets
Dual Enrollment (DE) students must demonstrate a readiness for college, meet the applicable college placement requirements, and address all other college admission criteria. As of May, 2014, the VCCS has determined that the Virginia Placement Test (VPT), or an approved alternative test score is required in both Math and English for all dual enrollment students as the indicator for college readiness.
VWCC does not have access to information for the alternative test scores (PSAT, SAT, ACT, SOL, AP) that could be used to meet the admission requirement. This information must be provided by the high schools.
Prior to the 2014-15 school year, high schools had to provide copies of official score reports for alternative testing. This information is now submitted to the college by the high school guidance office using the Batch Spreadsheet located in Google Docs. This eliminates the need for the high schools to provide those copies and creates a more streamlined and efficient process between the high schools and Virginia Western.
Dual Enrollment (DE) students cannot self-register for classes. High Schools must provide the student enrollment information. From this, billing is generated and sent to the high schools. The Class Roster, in addition to providing the information to enroll students into dual enrollment classes, serves as part of the verification documentation needed to generate tuition charges and verifies that the school has given "permission" for the student to participate in the dual enrollment program. Class Enrollment data is submitted through Google DOCs.
