Carla Kimbrough, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for the VCCS, has communicated the following search advocate summer training opportunities, including one refresher course:
What you will learn in this training: what a search advocate does; legal requirements we must abide by; what diversity means (it’s bigger than you think); recruitment strategies that go beyond posting a job; screening strategies that focus on the most important work responsibilities and competencies; developing an interview and reference checking process; and welcoming individuals to the workplace.
To those considering these training opportunities, please check your schedules to make sure you are available for the times identified. Note the minimum registrations and registration deadlines. The VCCS will likely offer one fall session in October.

- Training Session 1, Two-Day Format: May 8, 1 to 4:30 p.m. and May 9, 1 to 5 p.m. Attendees must participate in both sessions to complete the training. Minimum of 12 registrants, by April 30.
