Congratulations to Ray Kirby who received VWCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Technical Studies as a fall 2021 graduate. Ray teaches in Western’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program.

As a former VWCC student, Ray earned a career studies certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration in 1989. He later completed a Bachelors in Business Management from Liberty University in 2010. Upon joining the adjunct faculty in the fall 2021, Ray was excited to hear of the addition of the AAS in Technical Studies. Ray shared, “When I attended and earned my certificate in the late 80’s, I brought it up to anyone and everyone that would listen that an Associates Degree should be available here at VWCC. So the day it was announced last Fall I was ecstatic! It will open doors for many students in the job market.”

We are excited that Ray is one of the first graduates from one of the college’s new AAS degree programs!
