Letters of Recommendation – Update

The Student Release of Information form has been updated and no longer requires students to complete anything to request a letter of recommendation. This is not a FERPA requirement. If a student asks you to write a letter of recommendation, complete a reference for a scholarship, etc., it is strongly recommended to get that request in writing (email is fine) so you can document it.

If the request includes information you’d prefer to release only after receiving the Release of Information form, you can still ask the student to submit one, but this is no longer required by the college.
