Great Expectations, students at Virginia Western formerly in foster care, partnered with Roanoke City DSS to help teenagers this holiday. Oftentimes, donors overlook teens, preferring providing gifts for younger children. This drive aims to collect items requested by teenagers to help ensure they all have plenty of gifts this season!
Here’s a list of what we’re needing for donations:
Gift Cards: Chick Fil A, McDonalds, Dicks Sporting Goods, Gamestop, Walmart, Target, Amazon, Best Buy, Bath and Body Works, Chipotle, Starbucks, Taco Bell
Self Care Items: body lotions/spray, hair care items, nail care kits, perfume, hair accessories/brushes, deodorant, makeup & lashes, chapstick/lip gloss
Comfy Items: Squishmellows, cozy socks, blankets
Games/Board Games: puzzles, card games, Rubix Cubes, fidget toys, footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, sensory Items
Arts & Crafts Items: adult coloring books, markers, pen sets, colored pencils, Journals, diamond art kits, paint supplies, print by number kits, bracelet making kits
Electronics: headphones, selfie lights, strings lights (LED) for room, Bluetooth speakers.
Donations can be returned to Brown Library or Student Life Suite 207. Please return all donations by November 25th.
