Changes Coming for Some Windows 10 Virtual Users

Changes Coming for Windows 10 Users

IET is upgrading approximately 175 Windows 10 virtual machines to address compliance and security standards as part of the college’s continuous improvement process for cyber security. These machines will be replaced with a newer version of Windows 10 that features improved graphics, security and performance enhancements.

Who does this affect?

Many folks already use the new machines. If you are one of the people affected by this upgrade, you will receive an email notification when it is time to migrate with instructions on how to sign in for the first time and begin using the machine.

What do you do?

If you receive an email from IET that your system will require an update, follow the instructions in that email to set up the new system. The upgrade will require about an ½ an hour to complete on average. Your prompt attention to making the switch is appreciated! The Help Desk can assist you in this transition as needed. If you have test banks or other software specific you your work, IET will work with you to get this migrated. More information will be forthcoming.

Thanks!
