This session provides an introduction for anyone wanting to learn more about Open Educational Resources [OER], whether you are actively looking for free, adaptable content to use in a course or would simply like to learn more about the topic and supporting student success.
The VIVA library consortium offers a $200 stipend to teaching faculty, including adjuncts, who attend one “Open Course Materials” workshop, and then complete a review of an open textbook in the Open Textbook Library after the workshop. Only one $200 stipend per faculty member will be funded per calendar year. Also, these sessions provide an opportunity for VWCC faculty to connect with faculty at NRCC and Radford who may be seeking partners for VIVA-funded OER-creation projects.
Reviews will be due by Monday, November 13th, as VIVA staff will try to process stipends this calendar year. Questions? Please contact Alyssa Archer at aarcher2@radford.edu.
