Demand for student loaner laptops has exceeded the library’s supply each semester. As we move forward, we will begin using an application process to ensure that students with financial need and without access to their own computer at home get first priority in the loan process. With help from financial aid and advising, we’re eager to pilot the new application and eligibility process we created this summer. The summer loaner laptop application will go live on the library website Friday, April 21. Students who apply before May 15 will receive first consideration, but we will accept applications on a rolling basis. Laptop checkouts will begin May 22, the first day of summer classes. Students will still need to bring a photo ID to check out a computer on the 2nd floor (top floor) of Brown, and we will ask that all students have an approved application before they borrow a computer for the summer.
