There are multiple methods that may be used for assessment that are offered at VWCC. Detailed information can be found in our CPL Catalog or on our CPL webpage regarding the following methods.
- Standardized Exams (CLEP by College Board; DSST by Prometric, UExcel exams by Excelsior College)
- Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams
- Military Training
- Licenses and certifications
- American Council on Education (ACE)
- National College Credit Recommendation Services (NCCRS)
- Faculty developed challenge exams
- Portfolio Assessment (individualized assessment; evaluated by faculty SME)
As VWCC continues to strive to model a more adult learner-focused community college, we are focused on building a strong, effective and sustainable Credit for Prior Learning Program that will support adult learners.
