Hanukkah is the Festival of Lights, the holiday that commemorates the rededication of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem in the 2nd century BCE. Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days, in honor of the miracle of the oil that lasted eight days in the Holy Temple. This year Hanukkah will begin (in the U.S.) the evening of Sunday, November 28th, and ends the evening of Monday, December 6th.
