On average, program-placed minority students are 7.5% less likely to persist and/or graduate. For example, of all non-minority program-placed students enrolled in fall 2019, 43% returned in 2020 and 22% graduated. For minority students from fall 2019, 43% returned, but only 16% graduated.

This is different from first-time in college cohort retention. This report addresses the question of how many program-placed students who were enrolled in the fall were also enrolled in any way the following fall, or had graduated. All program-placed students are included, regardless of the year in which they started taking classes at Virginia Western. Data Source: VWCC Master Files data
