The Educational Foundation is proud to support the addition of two new success coaches for Virginia Western students.
Frank Tyree is the Roanoke City CCAP Success Coach, focusing on first-year city students as they adjust to the high school to college transition. Frank is a former assistant strength and conditioning coach at Norfolk State University and most recently worked with students with autism in Roanoke City Public Schools.
Schuyler van Montfrans is the Fralin Futures Success Coach, helping STEM-H scholarship recipients cross the “finish line” to graduation. Schuyler has taught a variety of science subjects, including at William Fleming High School, and was a research specialist on a National Science Foundation grant at Virginia Tech.
You can read more about Frank and Schuyler here. They are eager to meet others on campus and to help recruit students to Virginia Western. Please reach out to them with your ideas, questions or just plain old VWCC greetings!
