The Virginia Western Educational Foundation offers support to students attending Virginia Western who experience an emergency or hardship. Food insecurity, homelessness, job loss, lack of transportation, childcare, technology and more impact students frequently. When students find no solution to their emergency, they may drop out of school to deal with it. We want to prevent that if we can.
Students may apply for assistance in an amount up to $500.00 through our Rapids Response Student Emergency Fund. The application is on the Educational Foundation website at https://www.virginiawestern.edu/foundation/student-funds/. Depending on the request, help can be provided to pay rent, a car payment, utility or medical bill, provide textbook assistance in the VWCC Campus Bookstore, provide a Kroger food/gas card or address other needs.
Be sure to read on the webpage the eligibility requirements to apply before submitting the application.
