Book Club: Coaching for Equity

This fall, join fellow faculty & staff for a biweekly discussion of Elena Aguilar’s Coaching for Equity: Conversations that Change Practice. This text is geared towards educators at all levels in all roles and provides a framework for addressing inequities in our classrooms and student interactions. As one reviewer notes, “Coaching for Equity offers extensive strategies for talking about race, power, and systems of oppression. In framing the rationale for transformational conversations, Coaching for Equity gives us the context we need to enter into this work. In laying out the strategies, tools and models for critical conversations, it gives us the way forward.” The library has purchased an electronic version of this book that can be accessed online at: https://ebookcentral-proquest-com.ezvwcc.vccs.edu/lib/vwcc/detail.action?docID=6261087

Discussions will take place on Zoom, and recordings will be made available for those who cannot make the scheduled times. If you’re interested in joining this discussion group, email Katelyn Burton at kburton@virginiawestern.edu by Friday, October 8. We’ll meet starting the week of October 11th.
