MSET: Electrical Engineering Technology Specialization

Imagine a world without electricity. Electronic systems and devices are everywhere, therefore Electrical Engineering Technicians (EET) are needed for employment in many companies. The EET specialization of Mechatronics at Virginia Western Community College prepares students to work in electronics in fields such as electronic assembly, computers, cable and satellite TV, audio electronics, electronic security, high voltage transformers, electrical energy, medical devices, mechatronics manufacturing, transportation, and building design and technologies. Students also may transfer to a 4-year school such as ODU in Electrical Engineering Technology.

Transfer Agreements

Students that graduate from Virginia Western with an associate degree and a minimum grade point average may obtain GUARANTEED admission to more than 30 of the commonwealth’s colleges and universities. Please see this list for copies of the current agreements.

In addition, Virginia Western has entered into the following agreement specific to the Electrical Engineering Technology Specialization program. This list is subject to change, and the most current agreements can be found on our Transfer Agreements page.
