Fast-track programs offer credit and non-credit courses for business and industry training, retraining and certifications, as well as courses for community and personal enrichment.

Building Trades Tech

Building Trades Technology

This focus area is designed to provide students with the basic skills necessary to obtain entry level positions in the carpentry, plumbing, electrical, horticulture hard-scaping, welding, air-conditioning & refrigeration, automotive analysis & repair, and general construction fields. Fast-track and evening opportunities available.

Prepares students for careers in accounting, administrative support, business management, financial services, office management, health information management, marketing, and paralegal studies.

Communication Design

Visual Design

This program is designed to prepare students for employment in visual communication disciplines such as graphic design, advertising, web design, and multimedia design.

Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts

This program prepares our graduates to enter the workforce at differing levels in the following positions: baker, Line cook, Pantry cook, pastry cook, sous chef. With successful work experience, students can become head cooks and chefs.

Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics & Manufacturing

Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics & Manufacturing

Math or Engineering transfer students choose from traditional math or engineering curricula, with possible specializations in Mathematics, Computer Science or Construction Engineering. Two-year technicians may choose Mechatronics Systems, with possible specializations in Design or Electrical Engineering Technology. This Focus area also offers Career Studies Certificates.


Health Professions

For those wishing to pursue careers in the fields of Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Radiation Oncology, Medical Lab Tech, and Radiography. This focus area also offers Career Studies Certificates for LPN, CT & MRI Tech, and Phlebotomy.


Information Technology

This focus area is for students looking to enter the fields of: information cyber security, networking, software design, data collection and manipulation, web applications, and mobile computing.


Liberal Arts & Social Science

These programs allow students to complete the first and second years' course work needed to transfer to most four-year colleges and universities while offering flexibility for students to select specific courses from a variety of widely accepted transfer courses that may be required by individual four-year degree programs.

Public Service

Public Service

This focus area will prepare students for careers in early childhood education, human services, and criminal justice.



Science transfer students may choose from widely accepted courses in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, and Astronomy. Students may specialize in Health Science, Integrated Environmental Science or Computer Science. This Focus area also offers a Career Studies Certificate in Biotechnology, for those students who desire to specialize their training.

Transportation & Logistics

This focus area is primarily for students seeking to obtain their Class A CDL for entry into the trucking industry. Also offered is the Motorcycle Safety Course, which serves as an exemption from the DMV motorcycle knowledge exam, 30 day learner's permit, and road skills test.

Various non-credit courses for personal enrichment, including Virginia Western's Kid's College Summer Camp.
