The VWCC School of Health Professions offers a one-semester (16-credit) career studies certificate for this curriculum.

When To Apply

Spring 2018

The Spring 2018 application period ended November 6, 2017. No further applications for spring will be accepted. The next expected application period will be April 5-9, 2018 for the summer semester. The summer application form will not be available here until the application period. The program application form must be submitted to the Health Professions office during those dates only.  If you are not currently a student at VWCC, a college application (completed online) and placement testing are required and can be completed at any time before (or during) posted application periods. Applicants will be contacted after the deadline, if an interview is necessary.

Preadmission Requirements

The following requirements must be met to apply for admission into the Phlebotomy - Career Studies Certificate program:

  • Eighteen years of age or older
  • Completed VWCC college application on file (must be done before or during application period)
  • Satisfactory score on the VWCC placement/assessment tests for math and English (testing must be completed before or during application period)

Application Processing

Applications will be accepted during the specified application period only. The program application form must be submitted to: Pam Woody, VWCC – Health Professions, 3091 Colonial Ave., Roanoke, VA 24015 or may be hand delivered to CSHP Room 339. Enrollment is restricted and limited to 14 students. Accepted students will be notified and given registration information once acceptance has been confirmed by the program head.
