Science: Mathematics Specialization

An associate’s degree in mathematics from Virginia Western Community College prepares you to pursue a bachelor’s degree from a four-year school majoring in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics. This program’s versatility makes it a suitable foundation for students pursing bachelor’s degrees in physics, chemistry, engineering, or computer science. Our students have successfully transferred to schools such as Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, Radford University, George Mason University, and James Madison University.

This is an Associates of Science Degree that is intended for transfer. Local Job Opportunities listed are for applicants who have successfully transferred and completed a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree.

Students that graduate from Virginia Western with an associate degree and a minimum grade point average may obtain GUARANTEED admission to more than 30 of the commonwealth’s colleges and universities. Please see this list for copies of the current agreements.
