Policy
For all credit bearing online courses (i.e. courses that do not require regular face to face meetings with faculty*), a minimum of one proctored activity (test, quiz or assignment) must be included in the course. A proctored activity is operationally defined as a required graded activity delivered in a setting that is supervised by an approved, impartial person (a proctor) who verifies the identity of the student through a government issued photo ID and ensures the security and integrity of the environment in which the academic activity will be completed. This can be accomplished using one of the college’s official Testing Centers, the use of an online proctoring system that includes an identity verification check or the use of an alternative proctoring location as delineated in Policy I-61 Proctored Testing.
* Online synchronous courses using a video conferencing system to hold regular class meetings will be exempt from this requirement.
