A signed copy of this policy is available in the President’s Office.
The quality of performance in any Workforce (non-credit) is reported by the grading system of Satisfactory (S), Unsatisfactory (U), or Withdrawal (W). The assignment of the grades is the responsibility of the instructor. These grades denote the character of study and are defined as follows:
Satisfactory (S) – overall grade of at least 70%
Unsatisfactory (U) – overall grade below 70%
Withdrawal (W) – Please see Non-Credit Withdrawal Policy
Students must receive a grade of Satisfactory (S), complete all course requirements, including any required clinical components, to sit for any certification exam.
Faculty have the prerogative to establish how each grade is determined in their courses. The grading requirement must be documented in the course syllabus.
Absences
If scheduled laboratories are missed due to an absence, these must be made up with resources available. Virginia Western cannot guarantee that resources will be available for multiple skills labs missed due to absences.
