It is the policy of Virginia Western Community College to abide by all of the requirements of AWS QC 4-89, Standard for Accreditation of Test Facilities for AWS Certified Welder Programs, and AWS QC 7-93, Standard for AWS Certified Welders, when the Training Facility at the Greenfield Education Center is operated as an Accredited Test Facility.
The Trades Lab Manager will serve as the Facility Representative and the Quality Assurance Manager. The Trades Lab Manager reports directly to the Dean of the School of Business, Technology and Trades.
A full-time faculty member holding a current CWI will serve as the Test Supervisor and the Technical Manager. This faculty member reports directly to the Dean of the School of Business, Technology and Trades.
Should any conflicts develop that cannot be resolved by the Quality Assurance Manager and the conflicting parties, the problem will be referred to the Dean of the School of Business, Technology and Trades for resolution. The Dean will make a determination with regards to the issue in accordance with the policy listed above.
