In addition to the “Clean Indoor Air Policy” established by Virginia Western to comply with the Code of Virginia, Title 15.2, Chapter 28, “Virginia Clean Indoor Air Act”, Virginia Western also prohibits the use of electronic cigarettes (disposable or rechargeable), electronic vaping devices, personal vaporizers (PV), or electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS); aromatic smoking products, such as clove cigarettes, herbal cigarettes, hookahs, pipes, and other smoking paraphernalia and devices; and smokeless tobacco products such as chewing tobacco.
Use of any of the above devices or products is prohibited within all buildings or within 20 feet from the entrance to all buildings owned or leased by the college, and within vehicles owned or operated by Virginia Western Community College. This provision shall include any and all off-campus facilities utilized by Virginia Western, except for the facilities of any business or industry.
Additionally, electronic rechargeable cigarettes may not be plugged into any college electrical outlet or USB port in any building or external facility owned, operated, or leased by Virginia Western Community College.
