VCCS Policy 3.8.7 indicates that colleges may give a travel allowance to adjunct faculty whose course requires them to meet on campus more than one day a week. Virginia Western may give a travel allowance to any adjunct faculty member whose class section has a meeting pattern requiring more than 16 meetings in a fall or spring semester. The amount of the travel allowance will be established through the college’s annual budget process as one consistent rate for all adjunct faculty and will be taxable as income.
