Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Exam Prep
The CAPM® shows the world that you possess the foundational knowledge and skills that project based roles demand. It proves that you are ready to take on ways of working that include predictive project management, agile principles and business analysis. Earning your CAPM equips you with all you need to start a career in project management.
Virginia Western’s CAPM Exam Prep course is designed for individuals who plan to sit for the CAPM certification exam and have determined they will meet PMI’s exam prerequisites, and meets the requirements of 23 hours of formal training in project management.
The spring semester version of this course is entirely online.
Course Objectives
The primary objective of the course is to prepare students for the CAPM® certification examination by:
- Instruct participants to understand an apply project management frameworks.
- Provide input so participants are able to describe the ‘What?’, ‘Why?’, and ‘How?’ of project management processes.
- Use the approach of ‘doing’ by providing real project examples and templates to help take the participant from the learning mode to the doing mode in their professional and personal lives.
- Provide participants with the knowledge needed to apply for, the 23 hours of formal project management education, and take the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) exam.
Requirements
Before you apply, make sure you meet of the following sets of CAPM Certification requirements:
- Have a secondary degree, such as a high school diploma, GED (general educational development), or global equivalent
- Have advanced project management experience? You may be eligible for the PMP certification, PMP exam prep course is also available through Virginia Western.
