Bridging the Gap - Medical & Community Interpreter Training
Bridging the Gap is a 40-hour medical and community interpreter training course that focuses on code of ethics, roles of an interpreter, cultural competency, medical terminology, and professional interaction guidelines. Designed by the CCHCP, this course has been taught for over 20 years and has heavily influenced industry standards.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 18 years of age and provide proof of identification with government-issued photo identification. A student must have a high level of proficiency in both English and the language(s) that he/she will be working with.
Materials Provided: All training materials, including the textbook, are incorporated in the registration fee.
Audience: Individuals who speak, read, and write in two or more languages.
