Program Details

The Industrial Maintenance Technician Program consists of 4 courses taught in approximately 6 months total.

Course 1: Basic Manufacturing Skills

Basic Manufacturing Skills is the first course of a 4-course Industrial Maintenance Technician Program and sequence of classes.

  • 112 hours / 4 hours per session
  • 3 sessions per week
  • 28 sessions over 9 weeks

Credentials: Manufacturing Skills Institute Manufacturing Technician Level 1 (MT1) Certificate

Course 2: Manufacturing Maintenance

This Manufacturing Maintenance course is the second course to the 4-course Industrial Maintenance Technician Program. Details are included below.

  • 120 hours / 4 hours per session
  • 3 sessions per week except when taking Welding
  • 30 sessions over 11-12 weeks

Credentials: OSHA 10 card, Siemens Mechatronics Systems Program (SMSCP) Level 1Certificate, Bennett Mechanical Assessment

Course 3: Welding - FCAW*

Students will learn Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) methods. FCAW processes allow for high quality, versatility, out-of-position welding capability. FCAW processes are used by manufacturers, industry and in construction.

  • 30 hours

Credentials: American Welding Society, FCAW Qualification, D1.1 Structural Bridge Code

Course 4: Welding - GMAW*

Students will learn Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) methods. GMAW processes are used by industry, maintenance repair and hobbyists. GMAW is fast and economical and is used for welding thin-gauge metal as well as heavy plate.

  • 30 hours

Credentials: American Welding Society, GMAW Qualification

*Students will need to purchase equipment estimating $150 prior to Welding class: Wire Pliers, Helmet, GMAW Gloves, Safety Glasses, Steel-Toes Boots and Welding Jacket
