CNA - Certified Nurse Aide

An entry level nursing course which is a mandatory 120 hour course (we provide 130 hours) approved by Virginia Board of Nursing. This course prepares students to give direct care to patients in hospital, nursing home, assisted living and home health settings. Students will learn a variety of basic nursing skills such bathing, dressing, and grooming clients, vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse and respiration, proper feeding and transferring techniques and much more. Upon completion, students are eligible to take the NNAAP certification exam. No less than 40 hours of this course will be dedicated to clinical instruction.

Details

A textbook is included in the fee and provided at class. You will be responsible to supply navy blue scrub pants, white scrub shirt and predominantly white tennis shoes. You will also be required to have a watch with a second hand to use in the clinical setting. A blood pressure cuff is available for practice and available to purchase. These classes are non-credit classes and therefore not eligible for Financial Aid.

Class Requirements

  • Student must be 17 years of age or older
  • Background check of your criminal history – included in class fee
  • Student required to take a PPD Test – included in class fee
