Transforming Conflicts Into Opportunities

Do you fear conflict or avoid it at all costs? Conflict triggers emotions and can lead to hurt feelings, discomfort and disappointment. Conflict can also prevent us from meeting our goals in student organizations and academic life. When conflict is resolved in a constructive way, it can build trust and strengthen the group. This session will discuss conflict styles and tips for turning conflicts into opportunities.

Leadership Styles

An effective leader can use a combination of several leadership styles – taking both the situation and group into account. Learn more about the primary styles of leadership – Autocratic, Democratic, Delegating – and when it is appropriate to use each one.

Brainstorming and Goal Setting

Would you like someone from the outside to help your club with setting goals? A staff member will attend a meeting and help your group focus the ideas and develop those ideas and goals into action steps.

Leadership Development with LEGOs: Communication

This hands-on, interactive activity helps groups understand the importance of clear communication in teams.

Want to find out how to apply your leadership experience to a future career? This workshop works with your experience in clubs to transfer to real life jobs. We will work on your resume and will create one if you don’t have a resume yet!!
