The Fitness Center is offering the following classes throughout the month of November:

Yoga -Meditative Posture FlowMondays 2:00pm-3:00pm Intermediate stretch and flow class. Internal focus for energizing and calming.

Yoga Workout: Thursdays 5:30pm-6:30pm Come prepared to build a sweat, build core strength and stamina.

Salsa DancingTuesdays and Thursdays 2:30pm-3:30pm Learn to groove and burn calories at the same time. No partner necessary.

Mindful Meditation: Mondays 12:00pm-1:00pm Stop breathe observe and connect with your inner experience.

Zumba Fitness: Fridays 8:00am-9:00am Dance-based fitness that use a fusion of Latin and International rhythms with easy-to-follow moves

Pilates: Thursdays 5:30pm-6:30pm Lengthen and strengthen your entire body using core muscles and incorporating strength training

Hip Hop Cardio: Wednesdays 12:00pm-1:00pm Dance to the beat and burn calories.

Join the Armed Forces Student Association on November 11th starting at 11:30am for a reading of the National Roll Call. We will be honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation during Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn. This week's talk: Megan Washington - Why I live in mortal dread of public speaking
Megan Washington is one of Australia's premier singer/songwriters. And, since childhood, she has had a stutter. In this bold and personal talk, she reveals how she copes with this speech impediment—from avoiding the letter combination “st” to tricking her brain by changing her words at the last minute to, yes, singing the things she has to say rather than speaking them.

The Madison Society is a political science, oration and debate club. Our mission is to provide civic engagement and leadership opportunities for our members and fellow students through our activities including; our weekly on-campus meetings by the voice and vote of our members Fridays at 10:00 a.m., we provide direct engagement with political candidates and current officials, we have bi-annual  debates and a formal dinner where we will host a public speaker that we feel best represents our mission and goals. This club will prepare you for real life applications and will serve as a strong resume builder. Virginia Western’s Brown Library has a special collection of books, the Virginia Collection, that are all about Virginia or written by Virginia authors. Toys for Tots Toy Drive at VWCC!

The Armed Forces Student Association and the Human Rights Club have sponsors the Toys for Tots drive here on campus throughout November! The boxes have been placed at the locations listed below, only new and unwrapped toys are being accepted for this drive.
