Virginia Western offers the only community college based Student Police Academy. The program was launched in 2007 and since that time, VWPD has expanded to include students at Roanoke College.
The key goal of this program is to promote alcohol awareness and education by increasing student involvement that should lead to preventing or reducing the occurrence of underage / binge drinking and impaired driving among college students.
