As part of National Library Week, Brown Library sponsored a Word of the Week contest. Students, faculty, and staff were invited to create their own definition for the word, “jentacular”— no Googling allowed! We received many great definitions, many of them relating to either Jennifer Aniston or Jennifers in general. Some of them related the word to gentleman.
Congratulations to our student winner, Patrick Breslin! His definition: “When in the midst of an intense game of Jenga, and one performs a spectacular move that wobbles the tower but doesn’t fall.”
And congrats to our faculty/staff winner, James E. Smith, who defined it as “A spectacular jokester and entertainer.”
Both are the lucky winners of a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble! Thank you to everyone who entered and put their creativity to work!
But the real definition is…
Jentacular—adj. Of or pertaining to a breakfast taken early in the morning, or immediately on getting up. (From the Latin ientaculum.)
