Your gift to the Annual Fund helps Virginia Western meet the ongoing challenges of keeping college accessible to the greatest number of area residents while helping students learn. Shortfalls in state and federal funding continue as costs increase for equipment and programming maintenance. Virginia currently provides just 44 percent of Virginia Western's support. Funding from the state has decreased dramatically over the last several years, thus increasing the financial burden on students, who often can least afford a college education, through higher tuition costs.
Gifts to last year's campaign provided over $150,000 in scholarship funds and over $17,000 in emergency student funds and book funds assisting hundreds
of students in fulfilling their dream! Your support ensures higher education can be affordable for everyone.
By contributing to the 2011-2012 Annual Giving Campaign you impact the lives of our students and in turn strengthen our region. Virginia Western graduates become successful and productive members of our local economy each year.
