Virginia Western has launched a campus-wide retention initiative focused on retaining students and increasing student satisfaction and success. Retention activities are coordinated through the Advising and Retention Services Office and include the following components:
The Retention Referral System is intended to provide an efficient and proper channel of communications for the identification of “at-risk” students, so actions can be taken to help minimize negative consequences from their activities. This software application is written to provide instructors with a centralized and consistent means of communicating to the Retention Coordinator the identities of students who are in need of assistance and student services. Student retention should be positively impacted by providing prompt and appropriate assistance to “at-risk” students in their time of need.
This application will provide an electronic means of retrieving current record status for instructors who desire to see “live” record data on submissions. This application will provide the party responsible for processing and sending written communication to students placed on Retention Referral Status, with a means for mass generation of form letters and envelopes.
If you have additional questions about the Retention Referral System, please review the Reference Guide.
