Coordinator of Student Activities

Position Number: RO135

Reports to: Dean of Student Services (FA099)

This position administers the day-to-day co-curricular activities programs for students. Oversees the student athletic program, the Student Government Association and other student clubs and organizations.


Manage the daily functions of the college's student activities office and student life programs through the use of student organizations, faculty advisors, outside presenters and programs. Coordinate activities and schedule events after appropriate planning and development. Determine appropriate campus facilities for programs and reserves rooms and facilities for use; promote events through campus publicity and local media when appropriate. Supervise and evaluate all student activity events and confers frequently with supervisor on student activity matters. Responsible for managing the budget and requisitioning all payments related to these activities.


Oversees the activities of student organizations that promote student leadership, participation in college decision-making, and enrichment of student life and manage the budget associated with these functions. Identify and secure faculty sponsors for student clubs; interact with faculty sponsors on club activities and finances, interprets and enforces college guidelines, policies and procedures as they relate to student life matters; provide supervision for the student newsletter and the Student Government Association (SGA) president as well as overseeing all SGA activities. Coordinate the annual election process for the SGA president during the spring semester


Prepare and distribute student identification cards; manage the off-campus housing referral service for students; provides information on system-sponsored student health insurance and various health and safety matters. Annually update the Student Handbook for policy/content changes, publish and distribute to students, faculty, and administrative offices as required.

15% Oversees the athletic program. Supervise athletic coordinator and athletic events of the college to include intramural and/or intercollegiate sports
5% Work on various campus committees and other special assignments as assigned by the administration and/or the supervisor.
