The Virginia Western Dual Enrollment program is committed to providing high-school age students who can demonstrate college readiness with the opportunity to complete college-level classes at their local high schools or on the VWCC campus. At the same time, they will satisfy requirements for the completion of junior and senior high-school level courses.
High school students may have the opportunity to complete their General Studies Associate Degree or General Education Certificate concurrent with high school graduation. Students should contact their high school guidance department for further information and refer to the HB1184 Plan for their school division.
Visit the About Dual Enrollment section for more detailed information about the program.
At the High School
Dual enrollment classes taught at the high school are taught by VWCC credentialed high-school instructors. These courses may be offered at a reduced tuition rate.
Courses taught by VWCC faculty online or on-campus require the standard tuition rate. Some specialty programs may be offered at a reduced tuition rate.
Spring/Summer Graduation Applications
The spring graduation application will open January 18, 2016 and will close on March 31. Summer graduates wishing to participate in the ceremony must apply during this time-frame also. Otherwise the deadline for summer graduates will be June 30. The deadline for students to order their cap and gowns will be March 31.
Online tutoring is available by appointment through the Academic Link during regular hours of operation to any student who needs assistance with any VWCC course. Tutoring sessions are delivered through Blackboard Collaborate, which has audio, video and screen-sharing capabilities.
